General and Family Dentistry

Comprehensive Oral Examinations

Regular dental check-ups help maintain the health of your teeth, gums, and mouth. Our oral examinations include clinical assessments, radiographs (if required), and professional advice tailored to your needs.

Children’s Dental Care

We offer gentle dental care for children of all ages. Our focus is on prevention, education, and early intervention to support healthy oral development.

Preventive Dentistry (Fissure Sealants and Hygiene Care)

Fissure sealants are a protective option to help reduce the risk of tooth decay in molars. We also provide professional scale and clean appointments to support good oral hygiene and gum health.

Tooth-Coloured Fillings

We provide composite resin fillings designed to restore function and blend with the natural appearance of your teeth. All treatments are recommended based on clinical need and a full discussion with the patient.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is a treatment designed to remove infection from the pulp of a tooth, preventing further microbial invasion and protecting the tooth. This procedure is used to save infected teeth and prevent the need for extraction.

During a root canal, the inflamed or infected pulp is removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned, disinfected, and sealed with a rubber-like material called gutta-percha. The tooth is then restored with a crown or filling for protection.

Emergency Dental Appointments

We offer emergency dental care for issues such as toothaches, trauma, and broken restorations. Same-day appointments may be available, depending on clinical urgency.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Veneers (Porcelain and Composite)

Veneers can be used to modify the appearance of teeth for patients seeking aesthetic improvements. Each case is assessed individually to determine suitability.

Teeth Whitening

We offer both in-chair and take-home teeth whitening options for patients seeking to lighten the shade of their teeth. Results vary depending on individual circumstances and oral health status.

Smile Enhancement Options

Our clinicians can provide tailored treatment plans that may include whitening, veneers, or orthodontic options. All recommendations are based on clinical assessment and patient goals.

Dental Crowns

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that covers a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its strength, shape, and function. Crowns are colour-matched to blend naturally with your teeth. They may be recommended to support large fillings, protect worn or fractured teeth, improve appearance, cover implants, or follow root canal treatment. Each case is assessed individually to determine if a crown is the best option.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring to natural teeth or implants. It consists of crowns on either side of the gap with artificial teeth in between. Bridges restore chewing, support clear speech, and prevent nearby teeth from shifting. A personalised consultation is required to see if a bridge suits your needs.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants

Dental implants are one option for replacing missing teeth. We work closely with specialists when needed and ensure all patients are fully informed of the risks, benefits, and alternatives.

Am I a Good Candidate for Dental Implants?

Determining your suitability for a dental implant starts with a thorough assessment of your oral health and jawbone structure. At Lattouf Dental Padstow, we use advanced 3D Cone Beam CT imaging to evaluate bone quality, volume, and positioning. This allows us to plan treatment accurately and ensure a safe, predictable outcome.

We also take into account your overall health, the condition of your gums, and the stability of surrounding and opposing teeth. These factors all play a role in determining whether dental implants are the right option for you.

What Affects Implant Success?

Dental implants are a reliable long-term solution, with studies showing success rates of over 90% after 20 years. However, certain health and lifestyle factors can affect the outcome. Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, poor oral hygiene, and conditions like osteoporosis may increase the risk of implant complications or early failure.

Supporting Long-Term Results

Maintaining good oral hygiene, attending regular dental check-ups, and following your dentist’s care instructions are essential for the long-term success of your dental implants. A proactive approach and open communication with your dental team can greatly improve your results and help keep your implant functioning for years to come.

Dentures (Full and Partial)

We offer full and partial dentures designed for comfort, function, and aesthetics. Treatment plans are developed in consultation with each patient’s preferences and oral condition.

Oral Hygiene and Preventive Care

Professional Scale and Clean

Regular professional cleaning supports gum health and reduces plaque and tartar buildup. These visits also provide an opportunity to discuss oral hygiene techniques and preventive strategies.

Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) covers part or the full cost of some basic dental services for eligible children. This includes check-ups, cleans, x-rays, fillings, and more.

To be eligible, your child must:

  • Be aged 0 to 17 years for at least one day in the calendar year

  • Be eligible for Medicare

  • Receive a payment from Services Australia at least once a year, or have a parent, carer, or guardian who receives one

For more information or to check your eligibility, visit the official Services Australia website.
